Tay Creek Folk Festival
1 April 2019 Press Release
Summer might seem far away, but it’s only 15 weeks to the 12th Tay Creek Festival on 19 – 21 July. What started as a one-day grassroots event has grown into a bijoux weekend festival, still ‘small but perfectly-formed,’ which over the years has drawn national and international musicians and showcased the extraordinary talent of New Brunswick to the appreciation of audiences of all ages. Along with being family-friendly, the weekend comes with a range of vendors, workshops, activities for children, an onsite café, and opportunities for hiking through the woods and swimming in the River Tay.
We are happy to announce that local favourites Men from Earth will be coming back this year, and we look forward to the first appearance at Tay Creek of Jessica Pearson and the East Wind (https://www.jessicapearsonmusic.com/), who hail from Ottawa. Our full schedule will be published on 16 April, when Early Bird passes for the whole weekend will be available at a discounted price. There will be a limited number of these, so be sure to keep an eye out for them!
Tay Creek (not to be confused with Taymouth) is 25 minutes north of Fredericton on Route 620 (the Royal Road). The festival is held an idyllic setting of 600 acres with trails to the river. Parking and camping and free, and un-serviced sites are available for RVs. Puddleducks Café runs a BBQ and provides snacks and refreshments. Tay Creek Folk Festival is a great weekend for families and friends. For more details, check out the website www.taycreekfestival.ca
